Hi, I'm Rodney Diaz. I am an art director, graphic designer, and photographer based in Southbury, Connecticut. Raised in rural Alabama, I was never a college football All-American or a shrimp boat captain. However, I did spend one long, hot summer hanging iron from Montgomery to Tampa and back with a crew of ne’er do wells, sparking an interest in building that ultimately led to my position as Fine Homebuilding’s creative director. With insight and experience gained from previous stints at The Oxford American, Fine Woodworking, and the Southern Poverty Law Center's Teaching Tolerance and Intelligence Report, I bring an exacting attention to detail and a command of the tools of the design trade to the good work at Fine Homebuilding. When not shuttling my kids between sports or school, I spend the best part of my days with my wife Jody.
